Cloth Bags, Part II: Eclectic Boogaloo

Mare noted that she picked up a small foldable bag that fits in the glove box. I’ve got those in my eclectic collection; they make great diaper bags for the daily tote to and from school. Diapers go in the bag to school, are dropped off, and the bag is shoved in her cubby bucket without taking a lot of space. It even crams back into its own clip-on bag if I get the notion to stuff things in things (or need a diversion of “magic” for the little ones). I got these (I have two) at Claire’s during a buy X get Y sale.

One of my other handy bags, used for produce, to tote lunches, or for a small diaper bag (holds three cloth diapers and a small packet of wipes) is a black bag I got at a fundraiser sale. It’s shown here against a typical cloth bag that I described yesterday in my “standard bags” entry. I can easily put a bowl of something, a couple of snacks, some fruit, and a bottle of water in there. This is made of the same poly/woven material the bigger cloth bags are made from, and also washable.

Another bag I love is this little gem I picked up at a thrift store a few years ago. It’s kind of a weirdie. Tropical and flashy, just right on the wrist. Home made, and it looks padded. In fact, it’s got an inner core of some rather stiff material. I suspected it was or is a home made shoplifting bag, designed with a core to shield small goods sensors as you pass through door detectors, but I’ve not yet opened it to see for certain. Mostly it serves as a portable diversion and sidewalk chalk bag for my little vandals.

And to round out my review of cloth bags, a quick shot of a “standard bag” as I discussed yesterday, this one in far better condition, not washed and full of stuff. I’ve paired it with a standard tee shirt bag from the same chain, but it looks as if they’ve been downsized in the past few years while I wasn’t paying attention.
